Our customisation solutions

We create bespoke formulations to achieve the following objectives for our customers.

- Improvement of existing product

- Customised development of a new product

- Deformulation of existing product

- Reformulation with new raw materials for substance control compliance

Our product customisation process goes beyond mass customisation, where only mass-produced base formulations are offered for modification with limited options. Instead, we collaborate closely with our customers from the beginning to the end of their evaluation process to develop a bespoke product with optimal performance for their application.

Appearance & Curing

Colour options for UV adhesives:

Fotopolymer can incorporate various pigmented and fluorescent colours into our UV adhesives while balancing the curing performance. Such modifications enable visual and machine inspections of the adhesives after dispensing, ensuring it has been applied at the right places and with the right amount. This feature is well suited for high-speed or automated manufacturing. Colour change functionality is also available on request for visual indication of curing progress.

Combination curing options :

Most assemblies have complex geometry, which blocks some applied adhesives from UV light exposure. Fotopolymer can offer different dual curing options such as UV thermal cure, UV moisture-cure, UV activated cationic cure, two components mixing and UV cure, UV pressure sensitive cure, etc, to facilitate our customers’ ease of use and assembly process

Physical & Mechanical Properties

Wide formulating range of modulus and elongation:

Fotopolymer understands the physical properties of an adhesive such as the modulus, tensile strength and elongation play a critical role in providing the functional performances required for an application. We can formulate a wide range of varying modulus, tensile and elongation to obtain different physical and mechanical behaviours ranging from hard-strong, hard-tough, hard-rigid, elastic-tough, elastic-strong to elastic-yielding. We also formulate adhesive with extremely high elongation of up to 800%.

Adhesion & Durability

Adhesion on passive substrates and inactive surfaces:

The adhesion of our products on the intended substrates is critical in ensuring that the bonding performance meets the functional requirements of our customers’ assembly. This consideration is especially true when bonding dissimilar substrates and challenging substrates. Fotopolymer understands the diverse scientific disciplines and practical aspects that influence the adhesion on such substrates. Therefore, we can optimise the adhesion of our products on various passive substrates and inactive surfaces such as LCP, PPA, PEEK, PI, Titanium, ITO glass, etc.

Durability and reliability under extreme and harsh conditions:

We appreciate that our adhesives are often an essential factor in the long-term reliability of any product built to last. We can develop adhesives with the necessary durability properties to withstand prolonged exposure to moisture, chemicals, and heat.
